Welcome to Year 1 in M1!

A warm welcome back after the summer holidays! I trust you had a a great time together, making memories and laughing a lot! My name is Jo Kember and I am excited to be starting this year at Whangaparaoa School.  I met many of you on the last day of school in 2016 and am looking forward to hearing all about your holiday adventures, as well as seeing some of the new faces I didn't get the chance to meet.

I had many adventures myself over the holidays. My children Charlie (5) and Archie (1) kept me very busy with many trips to the park and beach. Archie did a lot of sand eating and Charlie went hunting for painted rocks.  Have you all been discovering the little painted rocks hidden around your neighbourhood too? We had family to stay from England. They brought us a giant Scalextrics car racing track, so we had a lot of races in the garage on all those rainy days. There was a lot of shouting and everyone got very excited and competitive with each other trying to win!

I can't wait to see you very soon and get to know you and your family over the coming year.

Your Teacher,
Jo Kember
